The Nitecore MH23 is a powerful, compact rechargeable flashlight which delivers a maximum output of 1800 lumens and a 294 meter throw distance. The MH23 is a fine lighting tool that would be very useful for professionals in the military, law enforcement and security. The spotlight would also come in handy for first responders, search and rescue personnel, campers, hikers and hunters.
The MH23 measures 4.38 inches long with a head diameter of 1.25 inches. The flashlight weighs 3.39 ounces without a battery installed. The MH23 is constructed from an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy which features a HAIII military grade hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The flashlight also features a detachable, titanium-coated stainless steel pocket clip.
The Nitecore MH23 utilizes a Cree XHP35 HD LED, an ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating and a PDOT (Precision Digital Optics Technology) reflector. The flashlight can be powered by one of Nitecore’s NL1835HP (3500mAh) 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries, one 18650 Li-ion battery, two CR123 or RCR123 batteries. The 18650 battery can be recharged inside the MH23 via a connection from the USB port in the flashlight head to an external USB power supply. A blue power indicator inside the switch alerts the user as to the status of the charging process. Reverse polarity protection guards against incorrectly inserted cells.
The MH23 produces five brightness levels: Turbo 1800 Lumens 30Min IMR18650 Battery – 18650 Battery; High 760 Lumens 2Hr 18650 Battery – 1Hr 45Min IMR18650 Battery – 1Hr 30Min CR123 Batteries; Mid 160 Lumens 5Hr 15Min 18650 Battery – 4Hr 45Min IMR18650 Battery – 4Hr CR123 Batteries: Low 55 Lumens 21Hr 18650 Battery – 19Hr IMR18650 Battery – 17Hr CR123 Batteries; Eco 1 Lumen 330Hr 18650 Battery – 300Hr IMR18650 Battery – 200Hr CR123 Batteries. The Nitecore MH23 also produces the light modes of Strobe, SOS and Location Beacon. The MH23 features ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) technology which regulates output thus preventing the flashlight from overheating.
The flashlight is operated two-stage power switch (similar to camera shutter) located at the side of the head. Access to the light’s functions depends on
how hard the switch is pressed. Press the switch all the way down to turn on/off the MH23. With the flashlight turned on, press the switch partway to cycle through Eco, Low, Mid, High and Turbo. The MH23 turns on in the previously used brightness level.
With the MH23 turned off, press the switch partway for 0.6 seconds to access Eco. With the flashlight turned off, press the switch all the way down and hold to activate momentary Turbo. When the light is on, press and hold the switch partway to access momentary Turbo. With the light turned on, press the switch all the way down for over 0.6 seconds to activate Strobe. After Strobe is turned on, tap the switch repeatedly to cycle through SOS, Location Beacon and Strobe. In SOS mode, press the switch partway for over 0.6 seconds to access Strobe. When the flashlight is off, press the switch partway to turn the position indicator on. The blue position indicator will blink once every two seconds to indicate the flashlight’s location.
